Cameroon-Algeria match: team sent to Douala to prepare national team supporters travel

Tourism and Travel Company Algeria will send its representatives to the city of Douala to prepare the transfer of fans to support the national team in its match against Cameroon scheduled for next Friday, March 25, to prepare the accommodations and arrival ” Said the Director General Advisor, Réda Amar on Thursday.

“In order to provide the Algerian fans with the best conditions in Douala, we will send a team specialized in group trips from the company next week, to prepare the travel and reception” said Réda to Algeria Press Service.

The same spokesman said that the company is used to organizing group trips, especially for fans of the national team during various events.

“We have already organized such major events, such as the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and the 2019 African Cup in Egypt, we have the experience in such circumstances” he said.

The Algerian Tourism and Travel Company began since Wednesday sending the files of supporters to the embassy of Cameroon in Algeria “gradually”, in order to obtain a visa to enter this country.

“The process is proceeding gradually and smoothly in order to obtain visas before the travel of fans to Cameroon” he said.

“The bookings are still ongoing, as the fan has to provide proof that he received the yellow fever vaccine before March 15, and we are here to serve supporters wishing to travel to Cameroon”Réda Amar said.

It is known that the public authorities announced that the date of March 15 is the deadline for receiving yellow fever vaccination, that is, ten days before the date of travel to Cameroon.

“We work non-stop until late at night, and even the medical staff accompanied us throughout the operation and did not stop working until the end of the vaccination process” he said.

The purchase of tickets for the travel of supporters has seen an increasing demand, in the various agencies of the company across the country, after the announcement of the Ministry of youth and sports, to reduce the price of a ticket from 80 thousand to 50 thousand including (ticket price+ visa price+ travel insurance+ PCR test +meal+ transportation to and from Douala Airport+ ticket to enter the stadium).

The operation began last Sunday in 30 agencies of the company, after the president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, ordered to start the process of selling tickets for flights dedicated to transport supporters of the national team to the city of Douala at “subsidized prices” while “providing all the possibilities for the success of this process”.

Those wishing to move to Douala are required to be over 18 years of age, having a passport with a validity of more than six 6 months, and a health passport that proves the vaccination against the coronavirus (covid-19), as well as the vaccine against yellow fever, and taking a drug against malaria. Note that” the services of the Ministry of Health take care of the health side.

The first leg will be held on Friday, March 25 at the stadium “Japoma” in the Cameroonian city of Douala at 18.00 Algeria time, while the second leg will be played on Tuesday, March 29 at the stadium “Mustafa Chaker” in Blida at 20:30.
