Police forces of the Central Administration for Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking managed, in a qualitative operation, this week, to dismantle the activity of an international criminal network, a cross-border organization, specialized in the illicit trafficking of psychotropic substances, consisting of 09 suspects, with the seizure of 530,328 hallucinogenic tablets of Pregabalin and RIVOTRIL.
This operation, which was carried out under the supervision of the public prosecutor at the Djelfa Court, resulted in the seizure of four tourist vehicles and four trucks that were used to transport and ship psychotropic substances from the province of Djelfa to the various provinces of the country for the purpose of distributing them, in addition to a sum of money estimated at 446,500 Algerian dinars, from sales and trading revenue.
After completing the legal procedures, the suspects were presented before the Public Prosecutor at the Specialized Criminal Pole of the Court of Sidi M’hamed – Algiers, for the felony of importing and selling illegal psychotropic substances, forgery and using counterfeit official documents and money laundering.
