The president of the Independent National Authority for Elections (ANIE), Mohamed Charfi supervised, on Sunday in Algiers, the launch of the periodic revision of the electoral lists.
Inquiring about the conditions of the operation from the town hall of central Algiers, Mr. Charfi indicated in a statement to the press that the revision “is taking place under conditions of strict organization and an effective presence of all the stakeholders”.
On this occasion, he called on citizens to use electronic registration, possible via the Authority’s website, welcoming the role of civil society, now endowed with a constitutional institution responsible for promoting its actions.
ANIE had invited citizens not registered on the electoral lists and having reached the age of 18 on December 31, 2022, to register from next Sunday at the level of the municipal commission for the revision of the electoral lists placed under its authority, and this, until December 14th.
Citizens can ”register via ANIE’s electronic platform”, noted ANIE, noting that the offices of the municipal commission for the revision of electoral lists are open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except on Fridays.
Citizens residing abroad must approach diplomatic or consular representations for their registration in accordance with the same procedures.
