The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, stressed today, Thursday, the need to strengthen Algeria’s role as a pivotal country that actively contributes to achieving peace and reunification in light of the current regional and international conditions.
A communiqué issued by the ministry stated that Ramtane Lamamra held an orientation meeting at the ministry’s headquarters with the executives of his ministerial department, during which he presented the outlines of the ministry’s action plan for the next stage, mainly based on translating the commitment of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to strengthening Algeria’s role as a pivotal country that actively contributes to achieve peace and reunification in light of the current regional and international situations.
In his speech during the meeting, he mentioned “the rich balance of Algerian diplomacy, which contributed to the liberation and construction battles through successive generations of diplomats, who have achieved accomplishments that are cause for pride by today’s generations, especially with regard to the Algerian role in helping peoples struggling for emancipation from colonialism and economic dependence.
He also stressed “the necessity of drawing inspiration from this precious historical asset in order to move forward in the way of strengthening the Algerian diplomatic role, whether it is related to mediation to settle disputes by peaceful means or confronting schemes targeting our country.”
In this context, he highlighted “the necessity of showing the high spirit of struggle that distinguished the first generation of diplomats in order to preserve the higher interests of our country and adapt to the requirements of the current stage.”
On the other hand, the head of the Algerian diplomacy mentioned the “importance” that the President of the Republic attaches to taking care of the concerns and aspirations of the national community residing abroad, especially after the recent change of the name of the ministry, which emphasized this “strategic orientation,” stressing in this regard “the importance of building bridges of communication and dialogue” with its members in order to make the community play its positive role in the national building, as was the case in the past.”
In conclusion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad gave his instructions to “give the utmost importance to the continuous training of the Ministry’s employees and executives in order to enable them to perform their tasks in the desired manner, whether related to daily management or with the tasks of foresight and crystallizing a comprehensive and integrated vision for all dimensions of Algeria’s foreign relations.” The Minister also urged the ministry’s employees and executives to “double efforts and dedication to serve the country with confidence, firmness, efficiency and commitment.”
