A woman died and another person was injured in a traffic accident that occurred today, Thursday, on National Road No. 11 in its section, linking the municipalities of Beni Hawaa (northeast of Chlef) and Damous (northwest of Tipasa), according to a statement by the province’s Directorate of Civil Protection.
The statement indicated that this accident, which occurred at around ten o’clock in the morning on the axis of National Road No. 11 in its section linking the municipalities of Beni Hawaa and Damous, precisely at tunnel 159, was the result of the deviation of a tourist car and its fall off a cliff whose height is about 50 meters above sea level.
According to the same source, this accident led to the death of a 44-year-old woman on the spot and the injury of a 17-year-old man whose thigh was broken.
The statement also pointed out that, due to the difficulty of the place where the accident occurred, the Civil Protection Units in Beni Hawaa intervened, by land and sea, by means of a rubber boat to transfer the injured and the victim to the health structure of the same municipality.
