The province of Tizi Ouzou recorded the outbreak of twenty fires yesterday Tuesday in the evening, according to a statement issued today, Wednesday, by the local directorate of Civil Protection.
Communication manager of Civil Protection, Captain Kamel Bouchakour, stated that two horrific fires were recorded among the total of these blazes, which were completely controlled and extinguished.
According to the same source, a fire broke out in the region of Azzefoun (in the north) and another in “Si Youcef” (southwest of the province). Civil Protection services mobilized all their human and material means to extinguish these fires and managed to control them quickly.
Captain Bouchagour indicated that the process of extinguishing the fire that broke out in the region of Si Youcef required the use of the mobile convoy and the main unit of Tizi Ouzou, who were recruited alongside Civil Protection unit in Draa El Mizane, which was supported in the field by various concerned services.
The same official noted, on the occasion, the mobilization of the various services involved, as well as the efforts of citizens who contributed to extinguishing the fires, especially in the region of Si Youcef, where the fire posed a danger due to strong and hot winds in the area.
