The activities of the eleventh national cultural festival of Chaabi song concluded on Monday evening in Algiers with a distinguished performance given by the artist Abdelkader Chaou in front of a large audience who also enjoyed the tunes of many chaabi music sheikhs from the new generation.
After an absence of seven years, the festival returned in its eleventh edition to highlight the unique work and distinguished career of artist Mahboub Bati (1919-2000).
The 11th National Cultural Festival of Chaabi Music (10-15 August) presented many artists, especially from the new generation, who came from all regions of the country to honor the memory of sheikh Mahboub Bati and to celebrate the return of this cultural event, which aims to introduce young talents to chaabi heritage that needs tobe preserved.
