Council of Arab ministers of information: Belhimer stresses the need to develop a common Arab vision

Minister of communication, Government spokesman Ammar belhimer, during his participation in the meeting of the Council of Arab ministers of information in Cairo, stressed the “need to develop a common Arab vision” with “strengthening the Arab media presence in cyberspace”, reported Wednesday, a ministry statement.

On the sidelines of his participation at the meeting of the 51st Session of the Council of Arab ministers of Information, Mr. belhimer had meetings with his counterparts from the Arab Republic of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Republic of Iraq, Sultanate of Oman and Palestine.

Mr. Belhimer, stressed the need to “strengthen the Arab media presence in cyberspace and establish high professionalism with full respect of journalistic ethics”.

During these meetings, views were exchanged on bilateral relations as well as” ways to enhance cooperation in media field“, and it was an” opportunity to evoke and emphasize Algeria’s leading role in joint Arab action”.

In the same context, the minister highlighted “the need to activate cooperation to face communications challenges faced by Arab countries, especially those in online media and cyber security,” which “will help to achieve Arab media security and meeting global development in this sector,” adds the same source.
