Covid-19: 235 new Coronavirus cases, 196 recoveries and 4 deaths

 

235 new Coronavirus cases, 196 recoveries and 4 deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours in Algeria, according to a statement read by the spokesperson for the Scientific Committee in charge of Coronavirus pandemic evolution, Dr Djamel Fourar.

Speaking during his daily press conference devoted to the evolution of the pandemic, Mr. Fourar  affirmed that the total number of confirmed cases rose to 107122 patients, including today’s 235 new cases (an estimated rate of 0.5 cases per 100,000 people), while the total number of recovered patients reached 73152. The total number of deaths reached 2888.

Mr Fourar confirmed that 33 patients are currently receiving intensive care, adding that 16 provinces have registered less than 09 cases, while 24 other provinces have not registered any case, and 08 other provinces registered more than 10 cases.

Mr Fourar stressed that the current situation of the pandemic requires citizens to be vigilant and to respect rules of hygiene and physical distancing.
