243 new Coronavirus cases,193 recoveries and 5 deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours in Algeria, according to a statement read by the spokesperson for the Scientific Committee in charge of Coronavirus pandemic evolution, Dr Djamel Fourar.
Speaking during his daily press conference devoted to the evolution of the pandemic, Mr. Fourar affirmed that the total number of confirmed cases rose to 106,097 patients, including today’s 243 new cases (an estimated rate of 0.5 cases per 100,000 people), while the total number of recovered patients reached 72,336. The total number of deaths reached 2871.
Mr Fourar confirmed that 34 patients are currently receiving intensive care, adding that 27 provinces have registered less than 09 cases, while 18 other provinces have not registered any case, and 03 other provinces registered more than 10 cases.
Mr Fourar stressed that the current situation of the pandemic requires citizens to be vigilant and to respect rules of hygiene and physical distancing.
