COVID-19: 3 million doses of the vaccine per month, soon to be received

The spokesperson for the Monitoring and Follow-up Committee for Coronavirus Outbreak, Djamel Fourar, revealed today, Thursday in Algiers, that the Ministry of Health will soon receive nearly 3 million doses of an anti-Coronavirus vaccine per month.

In a statement to the Algerian Press Agency on the sidelines of the launch of a vaccination campaign against Coronavirus for students at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Algiers, Dr. Fourar confirmed that “the Ministry of Health will soon and continuously receive vaccines at a rate of 3 million doses per month, which will ensure the continuation of the vaccination campaign with full ease.”

The Minister of Health, Professor Abderrahmane Benbouzid, had announced earlier that the ministry would receive 4 million vaccine doses during the current month of July, including one million and 600 thousand doses that were received last Sunday, with the rest (that is, two million and 400 thousand doses) arriving next Friday.

For reference, the student vaccination campaign that took place today at the Faculty of Medicine was supervised by university medical teams supported by elements of Civil Protection, due to the huge number of students and the distribution of employees of institutions affiliated to the Ministry of Health to several spaces and structures for vaccination.
