Covid-19: Extension of the current prevention measures for 15 days, as of Saturday

The Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, AïmeneBenabderrahmane, decided to extend the current measures of protection and prevention against the Corona virus (Covid-19) for a period of 15 days, starting from Saturday, according to a statement issued on Thursday by the Prime Minister’sservices.

The statement indicated that: “Pursuant to the instructions of the President of the Republic, Mr. AbdelmadjidTebboune, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, and after consultations with the Scientific Committee for the monitoring of the evolution of the Corona Virus (Covid-19) pandemic and the Health Authority, the Prime Minister, Mr. AïmeneBenabderrahmane, decided to take the necessary measures to be implemented as part of the managementof the health crisis induced by the Corona Virus (Covid-19) pandemic.

These measures which fall within the framework of preserving the health of citizens and protecting them from any danger related to the spread of the Corona virus (Covid-19), aim to extend the current apparatus of protection and prevention on account of the epidemiological situation,

For this purpose, the current measures of protection and prevention are extended for a period of fifteen (15) days, starting from Saturday, December 11, 2021.

Despite a relative stability of the epidemiological situation, the citizens are required to be very vigilant and avoid any negligenceof compliance withthe preventive measures and the various health protocols destined to various economic, commercial and social activities, especially due to the emergence of the new mutant “Omicron”.

In this circumstance, the government calls on all citizens who have not yet been vaccinated to massively participate in the ongoing vaccination campaigns throughout the national territory, knowing that vaccination remains the best means of prevention and protection.

The Scientific Committee for the monitoring of the evolution of the Corona Virus (Covid-19) pandemic has recommended the adoption of a health pass as a condition for entering and leaving the national territory, as well as for attending sports and cultural events and entering concert halls.

This recommendation regarding the health passport, which has already been implemented, will be expanded to include other spaces, places and buildings designated for collective use where ceremonies, parties and events of  cultural, sports and festive nature.
