Covid-19: extension of the current prevention system for 10 days from Saturday

The work with current system of measures of protection and prevention against the Coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19) has been extended for a period of ten (10) days, starting on Saturday, January 15, 2022, according to a statement of the Prime Minister’s services.

In application of the instructions of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of the National Defense and at the outcome of the consultations with the scientific committee of follow-up of the evolution of the pandemic of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) and the health authority, the Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, Mr. Aïmene Benabderrahmane decided on the measures to be implemented under the device of management of the health crisis related to the pandemic of the Coronavirus (Covid-19), had specified the same communiqué.

In keeping with the objective of preserving the health of citizens and protecting them against any risk of spreading Covid-19, these measures aim, in view of the epidemiological situation, to renew the current protection and prevention measures for a period of 10 days, starting on Saturday, January 15, 2022.

The Government was keen to point out that the numbers of cases of contamination recorded in recent days confirm the onset of the fourth wave of this pandemic with its consequences on the number of hospital admissions that continues to grow and put in “great difficulty our hospital structures” that could “reach a saturation point and the painful situations that we have experienced during the third wave of this pandemic.

This rate of spread will lead to an exacerbation of the health crisis and a strong impact on our population and especially on the most vulnerable people, those not yet vaccinated.

The Government has reiterated, with “strength and insistency”, its calls to citizens to continue to support the national effort to fight against this global pandemic by continuing to respect the barrier gestures, especially with regard to the requirement of mandatory wearing of masks, sanitary measures and social distancing

He reiterated especially his calls to citizens to use vaccination which remains the “best means” of prevention to protect our fellow citizens from “the severity” of the effects of this pandemic.

In the same context, the government has insisted on the need for prevention against the Coronavirus pandemic in order to avoid measures of closure of establishments, spaces and places where any violation of the sanitary measures enacted would be noticed.
