COVID-19: Harnessing all oxygen producers to ensure medical oxygen supply

Starting today, Monday, various oxygen production institutions at the national level were harnessed to ensure the availability and continuous supply of medical oxygen to various hospital institutions, in the context of confronting the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Pharmaceutical Industry.

This measure was taken, during a coordination meeting, which took place at the Ministry’s headquarters, headed by the Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Abderrahmane Djamel Lotfi Benbahmed, in the presence of the Ministry’s executives and representatives from the ministries of Energy, Mines, Industry and Oxygen Producers in Algeria, in the context of confronting the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic , adds the same source.

The minister asked oxygen producers to “inform the relevant departments of the Ministry of Pharmaceutical Industry as soon as possible, and on a weekly basis, about their oxygen storage programs, as well as their estimates regarding the stock of vials circulating in the warehouse.”

This meeting allowed – according to the statement – to review the logistical means of transport in the various production establishments, as the fleet dedicated to transporting medical oxygen consists of 69 trucks of different capacities.
