Minister of Health, Professor Abderrahmane Benbouzid, chaired the meeting of the scientific committee on Wednesday evening, extended to experts specializing in infectious diseases, said a press release from the ministry on Thursday.
The scientific committee, which has taken note of the significant improvement in the epidemiological situation of covid-19 in terms of morbidity and mortality, recommends vaccination and the maintenance of barrier measures.
Regarding the appearance in the world of cases of monkeypox, adds the same source, “the committee reviewed the situation at the international level and analyzed the risk for Algeria”.
The Ministry of Health, which “wants to specify that no case has been notified to date across our country, remains informed of the evolution of the situation and reactivates the health system already in place for covid- 19,” the statement said.
