Creation of Algeria-Ethiopia Business Council

The Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Ethiopia’s Chamber of Commerce signed Tuesday an agreement for the creation of Algeria-Ethiopia Business Council.

In a speech at the signing ceremony which took place via video conference, Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Kamel Rezig called on Algerian and Ethiopian economic operators to increase the volume of trade and raise them to the level of the ” good ” political relations between the two countries.

According to the Minister, the creation of the Business Council will give “a real dynamic to trade and investment between the two countries,” stressing the importance of “the African perspective” for Algeria and its belief in “strengthening trade relations between the two parties to promote their interests.

This Council will also establish partnerships between economic operators of both countries under “win-win” bases, added the Minister.

Mr. Rezig invited, in this regard, businessmen from both countries to make, when health conditions allow, mutual visits to implement projects that will consolidate cooperation in trade and investment, especially after the entry into force of the free trade area of the African continent.

This meeting took place in the presence of the Director General of the CACI, the representative of the Algerian Ambassador to Ethiopia, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ethiopian Ambassador to Algeria and the Secretary General of the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
