Cycling: Rekiki adds a silver medal to Algeria in the Islamic Solidarity Games

Algerian cyclist Youcef Rekiki won the silver medal in the race that took place today, Saturday, as part of the ongoing Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya, Turkey, over a distance of 130 km, bringing Algeria’s tally in the games so far to 17 medals (4 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze).

The National Cycling Team participated with six cyclists in the race.

The fifth edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games is marked by the participation of more than 6,000 athletes from 54 countries competing for 21 disciplines.

Algeria is participating in these games with 147 athletes, including 36 girls, in 12 sports.

It is worth mentioning that the Islamic Solidarity Games is a sports event organized by the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (established on May 6, 1985 in Riyadh) under the auspices of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
