Death of former Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki: Lamamra signs condolence book

Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad Ramtane Lamamra signed on Wednesday, in the name of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, at Kenya’s embassy in Algeria, the book of condolences following the death of former Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki, the ministry said in a statement.

Lamamra presented on behalf of the President of the Republic, his “sincere condolences to the friendly Republic of Kenya, Presidency, Government and People”, recalling “the merits of the deceased, who was the third President of the country during the period from 2003 to 2013” and praising, in the same context, “the footprint he left on the national and continental level, as well as on the historical relations of brotherhood and cooperation between Algeria and Kenya,” the same source said.

The minister also praised “the noble principles and values that unite the two brotherly countries stemming from their common struggle for liberation,” the statement added.
