Director-General of Forestry: 86 fires have not yet been extinguished in 17 provinces

The number of forest fires that have not yet been extinguished as of this morning, Wednesday, reached 86 out of a total of 103 fires that broke out since last Monday evening across 17 provinces, according to Mr. Ali Mahmoudi, Director General of Forestry.

Mr. Mahmoudi added that in the province of Tizi Ouzou alone, Directorate General of Forests registered 30 large fires that have not yet been extinguished.

Fires that are being extinguished also affect the provinces of Jijel (16 large fires), Bejaia (8 large fires), El Tarf (6 fires, including a fire that swept the province from Tunisia), Skikda (4 fires), Annaba (4 fires), Blida (4 fires) and Guelma ( 3 fires) Setif (2 fires), Medea (2 fires), Algiers (one fire), Batna (one fire), Bouira (one fire), Chlef (one fire), Khenchela (one fire), Oum El Bouaghi (one fire) and Tebessa (one fire).
