The head of National Union of Public Health Practitioners, Dr. Mohamed Yousfi, said today, Saturday, that Algeria can avoid the third wave of the Coronavirus pandemic completely or with minimal damage, adding that achieving this goal requires a set of conditions.
The head of the National Syndicate of Specialized Practitioners for Public Health, Dr. Mohamed Yousfi, affirmed to “This Morning” TV Show on “News Third Channel” that the responsibility for confronting the Coronavirus pandemic in Algeria “does not lie solely on one side”, underlining that this responsibility “does not concern only Health professionals but also citizens and public authorities.”
In this regard, Dr. Mohamed Yousfi called on citizens to respect measures to prevent Coronavirus, especially those related to wearing a protective mask and respecting social distancing in public places and means of transportation. Dr Yousfi called upon public authorities to tighten control mechanisms and even deterrence against violators of the prevention measures of this global pandemic.
Accordingly, Dr. Youssefi attributed the increase of confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Algeria to a state of “laxity in the application of preventive measures,” adding that despite these figures, “Algeria can avoid a third wave of the pandemic entirely or with minimal damage.”
