Education: Half a million copies of textbooks downloaded on digital tablets

Minister of National Education, Abdelhakim Belabed, revealed today, Thursday in Algiers, that half a million copies of textbooks have been downloaded so far on digital boards by students’ parents.

In a public session in the National People’s Assembly devoted to answering oral questions, the minister said that the ministry “recorded the downloading of half a million copies of textbooks on digital tablets by students’ parents, which means that half a million students have, until today, acquired electronic tablets.”

On the same occasion, the minister referred to “equipping 1,629 educational institutions with electronic tabs as part of the procedures followed by the sector this season,” considering that “downloading this number of copies of textbooks on electronic tabs would contribute to the state’s efforts to equip schools with digital tablets.”
