National Commission for Lunar Crescent Observance, meeting this evening, Tuesday, in the Imam House in Muhammadiah municipality (Algiers), announced that the blessed Eid al-Fitr in Algeria will be the day after tomorrow, Thursday, due to the lack of proven sightings of the crescent of Shawwal for the year 1442 AH in any part of the country.
This national commission, which has sub-commissions across the 48 provinces of the country, is composed of scholars and experts from the Research Center in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Geophysics (CRAAG).
