Expected thundershowers across many provinces of the country, starting today, Friday

A special bulletin from the National Meteorological Office reported that heavy rain in the form of thundershowers accompanied locally by hailstones will characterize many central and western provinces of the country, starting from Friday evening.

According to the bulletin, the concerned provinces placed in the “orange” level of vigilance are Chlef, Tipaza, Algiers, Boumerdes, Tizi Ouzou, Bejaia, Jijel, Bouira, Blida, and Ain Defla, adding that the expected rainfall amounts will range between 20 and 30 mm and can exceed 40 mm locally during the validity period of this bulletin, which extends from today Friday at 06:00 PM until Saturday 11:00 PM.

These weather disturbances will also affect the provinces of Tlemcen, Ain Temouchent, Oran, Mostaganem, Sidi Bel Abbas, Mascara, Relizane, Saida, Tiaret, Tissemsilt, Naama, El Bayadh, Laghouat and Djelfa, where the amount of rain is expected to range between 20 and 25 mm and could exceed locally 30 mm during the validity period of this special bulletin extending from today Friday at 09:00PM until tomorrow Saturday at 09:00PM.
