
Civil Protection units managed to extinguish 43 forests fires in 20 provinces during the last 24 hours, while the efforts continue in order to extinguish 29 fires across 13 provinces, according Civil Protection sources.
According to the same source, the fires were in the provinces of: Tizi Ouzou (10) fires, Jijel (7), El Taref (5), Bejaïa (4), Blida (4), Souk Ahras (3), two fires (2) in the wilaya of Setif, Bouira, Bordj Bou Arreridj, and one (1) in the wilaya of Tebessa, Annaba, Ain Defla and Tissemsilt.
In order to put out these fires, “enormous material and human capabilities were recruited, represented by 7,500 civil protection agents, 490 extinguishing trucks, in addition to three (3) helicopters of Civil Protection Air Team and 5 helicopters of the People’s National Army as well as two (2) planes.
As a result, “helicopters carried out 235 water-dropping operations, in addition to 172 water-dropping operations of two Canadair aircrafts across the provinces of Tizi Ouzou, Bejaia and Jijel.”
In a related context, Civil Protection efforts continue, accompanied by the relevant authorities, to extinguish 29 fires across 13 provinces, while the province of Tizi Ouzou witnesses the outbreak of (7) fires, Bejaia (5), Jijel (4), El Taref (4), Setif two fires ( 2), and one fire (1) in Annaba, Guelma, Ain Defla, Bouira, Tebessa, Tiaret and Medea.
