Finance: Instructions to achieve digitization within six months

President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in a Council of Ministers meeting he chaired on Sunday, gave instructions to achieve the digitization of the domains, taxes and customs within a maximum period of six months, a Council of Ministers meeting’s statement said.

“The President of the Republic has instructed the Ministers of Finance and Digitalization to implement the digitization project in the aforementioned sectors within a maximum period of six (6) months, as a first phase before the global digitization,” reads the statement.

President Tebboune also ordered the immediate and urgent establishment of an Algerian database by the Ministry of Finance to facilitate the exercise of their functions and duties towards citizens by the various State services, “in the most efficient manner.”

To achieve this “vital objective for the State,” he instructed the use of the best experts, national skills, and international study offices.

The President of the Republic affirmed that “the objective of digitization is not only to modernize administrative transactions but also relates to national security and aims to serve the citizen, particularly through the exact definition of state assets and individuals.”
