The 2022 Finance Law, which was approved today by the Council of the Nation, includes the creation of an unemployment pension to be granted to unemployed and new job seekers registered within the services of the National Employment Agency.
Article 189 of the law stipulates that: “An unemployment pension shall be granted to the unemployed, new job seekers who are registered within the National Employment Agency.”
After the vote on the draft law in the upper house of Parliament, the Prime Minister said that the unemployment grant, which was ordered by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, “will be directed to young people seeking job for the first time, who are registered within the National Employment Agency and whose age ranges between 19 and 40 years old.
He added that the conditions and modalities of benefiting from this grant, its value and the obligations of its beneficiaries will be determined through the organization.
This new procedure translates the will of the state to support and accompany the unemployed segment of job seekers without income, in an effort to ensure the basics of decent living conditions for these people by securing an income that guarantees covering a minimum of their needs during the stage of their search for a job.
