First Ministry: Several ministerial sectors on the agenda of government meeting

Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Aïmene Benabderrahamne, chaired, yesterday, wednesday a government meeting devoted to studying three proposals made by each of the ministers in charge of tourism, fisheries and the pharmaceutical industry, according to what was announced today, Thursday, by a statement of the services of the Prime Minister.

According to the agenda, members of the government heard three (03) presentations by the ministers in charge of tourism, fisheries, and the pharmaceutical industry.

At first, the government listened to a presentation by the Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts on urgent measures to revive tourism activity. On this occasion, the minister reminded of the difficulties the sector is facing due to the global health crisis resulting from Coronavirus pandemic, which severely affected global tourism activity with a significant decline in the profit of hotel establishments.

Following the presentation, the Prime Minister concluded by assigning the Minister of Tourism to reactivate National Tourism Council, in order to ensure better coordination and consultation between the various actors involved in tourism activity.

On the other hand, the Prime Minister asked the Minister of the sector to ensure the reorientation of the activity of travel agencies, as a priority, towards the development of domestic tourism.

After that, the government heard a presentation by the Minister of Fisheries and Fishing Products on urgent measures to revive fishing activity, related to a series of urgent actions aimed at overcoming all the difficulties that hinder investments and the proper implementation of activity development programs.

Following the presentation, the Prime Minister instructed the Minister of Fisheries to carry out a census of the fishing capabilities of the marine fishing fleet and human resources, in addition to setting up an information and statistical system in order to have tools that allow for redirecting surplus production towards processing and packaging units.

On the other hand, the Prime Minister requested an assessment of the extent to which the prescribed measures are being implemented in order to revive the activity of shipbuilding and repair.

The Prime Minister also instructed the Minister in charge of vocational training to promote training offers at the level of the centers affiliated to his sector in the field of fishing and related professions.

Finally, the government heard a presentation by the Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry on urgent measures to revive pharmaceutical production.
