Fixed and mobile security formations comprising 300 policemen to secure the Algiers metro

Fixed and mobile security formations, comprising 300 policemen, will be harnessed to secure the Algiers metro, which will resume its activity on Thursday, through a security plan drawn up by the General Directorate of National Security for this purpose, according to a press release issued by the Directorate, today, Wednesday.

According to the statement, this plan includes “harnessing fixed and mobile security formations, comprising 300 police with a special training, distributed along the metro track, entrances and exits, and equipped with various modern technologies that will contribute to facilitating monitoring and insurance tasks.”

Last Monday, the Ministry of Transport announced the resumption of the Algiers metro activity on Thursday, October 7, starting at six in the morning, after more than a year and a half of stopping due to the Coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19).
