Football: Algeria national A’ team meets Burundi on August 28 in a preparatory encounter

Algeria national A’ team will face Burundi on 28 August in a friendly match in preparation for FIFA 2021 Arab Cup in Qatar (1-18 December), the Algerian federation said on its official website on Saturday.

The national players will start a preparatory training at the National Technical Center of Sidi Moussa (Algeria), starting on August 24, under the supervision of national coach Majid  Bouguerra, and the lineup will be announced later on, according to the same source.

In respect to health protocol to fight Coronavirus outbreak, players and members of the national technical staff will undergo medical tests to detect covid-19, added the same source.

Coach Majid bougara has been backed by former Algerian internationals Djamel Mesbah and Mohamed Benhamou, the Algerian Football Federation said on Saturday.

The three coaches played together in the national team, and after retiring as players, they also worked in the technical staff of UAE club Al Fujaira, where Bouguerra was head coach, Mesbah and Benhamou were his assistants.

The Algerian national team is preparing for several international encounters, including the Arab Cup of Nations scheduled for the end of the current year in Doha, Qatar, and the African Championship for local players scheduled for 2023 in Algeria
