Algeria’s A’ national football team, with local players, won Sunday against Burundi by 3-0 (half-time: 1-0), in a friendly encounter played at Al-Wakra stadium in Doha, in preparation for the 2021 Fifa Arab Cup of Nations, scheduled to be held in Qatar (November 30 – December 18).

Goals were scored by Mohamed Islam Belkheir (19′), Billel Benhamouda (53′) and Zinedine Boutmene (71′).

The “Greens” had topped during the first friendly match played on Thursday against the first team of Syria 2-1.

In view of these friendly games, the national coach Madjid Bougherra has called on 26 players, four of whom play in the Tunisian League 1: Youcef Laouafi, Hocine Benayada, and Zinedine Boutmene (ES Sahel), and Nabil Lamara, who has just signed with Club Africain.

The A’ team had carried out its first training session with Bougherra last June, followed by a friendly match played at the new stadium of Oran against Liberia (5-1).

In addition to the next Fifa Arab Cup, the Algerian team is also preparing for the African Nations Championship (CHAN), scheduled for 2023 in Algeria.
