Football/ Arab Cup (women) 2nd Day: Algeria beats Palestine (4-1)

Algeria’s national footbal team (women), defeated Palestinian on the score of (4-1), half time (1-0) Saturday night in Cairo, for the 2nd day of the Arab Cup of Nations held in Egypt (August 24 – September 6).

Goals of the game were scored by Rahima Benaichouche (24′, 58′, 86′), and Naima Bouhani (80′) for Algeria. While the only goal of the Palestinian women was scored by Lana Abd-Rabou (57′).

Thanks to this victory, the second in a row following that of Jordan (3-1), the Algerians confirm their position at the top of Group B with 6 points while Palestine ranks last along with Jordan, who are competing for the second qualifying ticket for the semi-finals.

Algeria women football team is competing in the 03 teams group B, thanks to this 02 previous wins, Algerian ladies confirmed to finish in one of the first two positions of the group, qualifying for the last four of this 3rd edition of the Arab Cup.

In addition to the Arab Cup, Algeria coach Radia Fertoul’s players are currently preparing for the double confrontation with Sudan, scheduled for October, counting for the 1st round of the qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations CAN-2022, whose finals will be held in Morocco.
