
Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad Ramtan Lamamra was received, today, Saturday, in Baghdad, by the Prime Minister and Commander in Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, to whom he gave information about the content of the message sent by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to the Iraqi leadership, according to a Ministry statement.
The statement indicated: “As part of his working visit to the Republic of Iraq in his capacity as a special envoy of the President of the Republic, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Mr. Ramtan Lamamra, was received this evening at the Government Palace by the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Mr. Mustafa Al-Kazemi, whom he informed of the message of brotherhood and cooperation sent by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to the Iraqi leadership.
During the meeting, the same source added, “The two sides affirmed their determination to reinforce efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields, according to practical steps and a timetable aimed at reviving bilateral cooperation mechanisms, foremost among which the Algerian-Iraqi Joint Commission, which will hold its 14th session in Algeria at the end of the next November.”
It was also agreed, according to the statement, “to enhance the pace of consultation and coordination between the two countries by intensifying the exchange of visits at the highest level in order to strengthen consensus in the two countries’ positions on most regional and international issues based on their common commitments and references.”
