Forest fires: President of the Republic sets up national commission for evaluation and compensation

President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, sets up, this Monday, August 16, 2021 the national commission for the evaluation and compensation of victims of forest fires that broke out in several provinces of the country, according to a press release of the Presidency.

“The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, sets up today the National Committee to evaluate and compensate those affected by the forest fires that broke out in some provinces of the country,” the statement said.

The statement added:”after praying on the lives of the civilian and military martyrs by reading Al-Fātiḥa Surah frm the holy Quran, the President gave strict instructions to the members of the committee, to work in an orderly manner with all sectors and provinces committees headed by the governors, to immediately begin to compensate those affected in their property.”

According to the same source, the task of this committee is mainly to receive the files of the provinces committees that are working to assess losses. The President ordered the members of the committee to work in full transparency and equality with all those affected and in coordination with the heads of the villages committees in determining the lists of those affected, who surely will find full support from the state.

The President of the Republic also decided to grant a financial allowance of one million dinars to the families of the civilian and military martyrs. This allowance will be granted to the parents of the martyr if she/he was single and to his wife/husband if he/she is married.

Before the meeting concluded, the President of the Republic reminded on the   importance of highlighting Algerian’s solidarity, which reflects the greatness of the Algerian people and is the strongest response to anyone who tries to invest in this difficult situation that the nation will overcome.
