Forest fires: setting up a free number to report any danger or overrun

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development announced in a press release on Sunday the commissioning of a toll-free number to report any danger or overrun in the context of the prevention and fight against forest fires.

“As part of the prevention and fight against forest fires, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development brings to the attention of all citizens, the commissioning of a green number at the level of the General Directorate of Forests (DGF) under the number: 10-70”, underlines the same source.

The ministry explained that citizens can reach this number, 7 days a week and 24 hours a day, to “report any danger or overrun which could, due to a fire outbreak, threaten the integrity of our forests”.

This citizen alert, adds the document, aims to “facilitate emergency operations for the control of any outbreak of fire thanks to early warning and the effectiveness of the first intervention, with the assistance of all citizens and of civil society, and in particular local residents (residents in areas near forests)”.
