Four suspects of trafficking in war weapons who are active in a criminal network in the province of Tizi-Ouzou have been placed under arrest, according to a press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
“The statements of two suspected individuals involved in a case of trafficking in weapons of war operating within a criminal network composed of four (04) individuals from the province of Tizi-Ouzou were filmed,” according to the same source.
The suspects were brought before the competent territorial judicial authorities who ordered their placement under a detention order, the statement added.
These weapons of war (3 shotguns) were intended to be sold to criminal gangs or terrorist organisations in Algeria, the communiqué concludes.
