Government meeting: Examining files related to several sectors

Prime Minister, Aïmene Benabderrahmane, chaired today, Wednesday, at the Government Palace in Algiers, a government meeting, devoted to examining files related to the sectors of national defense, labour, health and transport, according to a statement of the Prime Minister’s services, the full text of which is:

The government examined during its weekly meeting, the following points:

In the field of national defense:

The government examined a preliminary draft law amending and supplementing Ordinance No. 71-28 of April 22, 1971, which includes the Military Judiciary Law, in anticipation of its presentation during an upcoming cabinet meeting.

In the field of labour:

The government studied a preliminary draft law initiated by the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, related to the freedom of trade union, the protection of the right to trade union, as well as the prevention and settlement of collective disputes at work.

This draft law includes principles and rules related to: freedom of trade union, the protection of the right to trade union, as well as the prevention and settlement of collective disputes at work, and aims to establish a social environment in which preference is given to amicable settlement and consultation before disputes occur, while promoting listening and dialogue.

This draft law will be studied, in line with the established procedures, during an upcoming meeting of the Council of Ministers.

In the field of health:

The government heard a presentation by the Minister of Health on the completion of an Algerian-Qatari hospital with a capacity of 400 beds, which meets international standards in the field of hospital engineering and management.

This project falls within the framework of bilateral cooperation with the State of Qatar and comes in accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic given during the Council of Ministers held on September 11, 2022.

In the field of transportation:

The Minister of Transport gave a presentation on the situation of the ports and an assessment of the activities of the various stakeholders at their level.

During this presentation, all the problems and dysfunctions encountered were examined, and a number of measures were proposed in order to remove all obstacles in a way that would allow for a coordinated and optimal management at the level of the various port facilities.
