Gymnastics Arab Championship: President of Arab Federation praises new sports facilities in Algeria

President of the Arab Gymnastics Federation, Kuwaiti Fahd Soula, praised the special attention paid by the public authorities in Algeria to sports of all kinds, “translated through the large sports facilities that the sector in the country has been endowed with.”

In a statement made to the official Facebook page of the Algerian Gymnastics Federation upon his arrival in Oran to attend the Arab Gymnastics Championships, which begins on Sunday, the same official affirmed that the Mediterranean Games, which were hosted by the same city last summer, demonstrated the extent of the interest paid by the Algerian authorities to sport.

He added that “Algeria is a sporting country by excellence which strives to shine in all sports. I followed with great interest the activities of the Mediterranean Games in Oran, which were marked by a strong participation and impressive results from the Algerian athletes who competed strongly with their counterparts from Europe.”

He pointed out that what Algeria has achieved in these games is “very encouraging” and reflects the special attention paid by the authorities from the highest official in the country and at all levels to sports, and the new facilities that have been built translate this interest into reality”.

With regard to the Arab Gymnastics Championships hosted by the multi-sports hall of the new sports complex “Miloud Hadfi”, which will continue until next Thursday, the same official nominated Algeria to win the title of the tournament.

Fahd Soula considered that “the preparations of the Algerian athletes for this Arab event allow them to look forward to winning the majority of medals and be crowned with the title.”
