At least 1,419 people are known to have died, more than 6,900 were injured, and unknown numbers are still missing following 7.2-magnitude quake that hit Saturday South-west Haiti Island that destroyed more than 37,000 houses were destroyed, Civil Protection reports.
An earlier tally reported about 1,300 dead and thousands wounded and missing.
On January 12, 2010, a major earthquake devastated the Haitian capital and several cities, killing 200,000 people and displacing one and a half million people.
