Head of the Libyan Presidency Council hails Algeria’s role in Libya’s security and stability

The head of the Libyan Presidency Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi, hailed, during his meeting today, Monday, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sabri Boukadoum, and his accompanying delegation “Algeria’s role in Libya’s security and stability”.

A press release issued by the council said, today, Monday, that the president of the Libyan Presidency Council commended “Algeria’s role in Libya’s security and stability “, highlighting “the deep brotherly relations between the two sister countries.”

Mr. Al-Menfi also emphasized Libya’s keenness to “strengthen cooperation in various fields of endeavor with the Algerian brothers and the importance of consolidating and strengthening these relations.”

It should be noted that, as part of the working visit that led to Libya as of today, Mr. Boukdoum and his delegation who are also accompanied by the Minister of Interior, Local Communities and Country Planning, Kamel Beldjoud, were received by several high-ranking Libyan officials, such as the head of the Lybian Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba and the two Vice Presidents of the Presidential Council, Musa Al-Koni and Abdullah Al-Lafi, in addition to being received by the President of the High Council of State, Mr. Khaled Al-Mechri.

The head of the Algerian diplomacy discussed, during his meeting with the head of the Advisory Council of State Khaled al-Mechri, bilateral relations at the political, security and economic levels, prospects for the Libyan political settlement process, and ways to support the new unified authority in facing the current challenges in a bid to implement the roadmap and to ensure a peaceful and comprehensive solution in Libya, in addition to organize the new elections on time. It is worth noting that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sabri Boukadoum, accompanied by the Minister of Interior, Local Communities and Country Planning, Kamel Beldjoud, started today, Monday, a working visit to Libya within the framework of promoting bilateral relations between the two countries and supporting the Libyan parties in facing the current challenges. A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that “the Minister of Foreign Affairs is paying a working visit to the sister state of Libya, accompanied by the Minister of Interior, Local Communities and Country Planning, Mr. Kamel Beldjoud, at the head of a high-level delegation.”

According to the statement, this visit comes within the framework of “the efforts made to enhance bilateral relations between the two sister countries and to provide support to the Libyan parties in facing the current challenges, especially with regard to the implementation of the road map to ensure a peaceful and comprehensive solution to the crisis.”
