Health sector attaches great importance to the application of combinatorial therapeutic protocols for oncology

Minister of Health, Abderrahmane Benbouzid, affirmed today, Tuesday, that his sector attaches “great importance” to the application of combinatorial therapeutic protocols for oncology at the national level, noting that the direct responsibility for this application lies with the heads of medical services, hospital pharmacists and hospital directors.

During his supervision of a meeting on the topic of “final approval of the combinatorial therapeutic protocols for oncology,” the minister said that “protocols have been prepared for the most prevalent cancers in Algeria, such as breast cancer, lung cancer, colorectal cancer, stomach and prostate cancers,” noting that “all other therapeutic protocols will be completed as soon as possible, in addition to updating them every year.”

In this context, the minister underlined that his sector will work, through the central pharmacy, to “provide all the medicines needed to treat patients, especially new ones,” noting that “a national and international tender has been launched to acquire medicines with the aim of better taking care for patients.”

It’s worth noting that during this meeting, Mr. Benbouzid signed the decision relating to the combinatorial therapeutic protocols for oncology, noting that the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, “has given approval to launch the second national cancer plan 2022-2026 in the coming weeks in order to give impetus to a better care of patients.
