Heat wave hits several provinces of the country as from today, Tuesday

Several provinces of the country will witness a heat wave with temperatures reaching or exceeding 44 degrees Celsius as from today, Tuesday, according to a special bulletin of the National Meteorological Office.

The heat wave will affect the states of Ain Defla, Medea, Bouira, Tizi Ouzou, Mila, Constantine, Guelma, Souk Ahras, Messila and West Batna, where temperatures will reach 44 degrees Celsius and may reach locally 46 to 47 degrees Celsius as from today, Tuesday until tomorrow Wednesday at 21:00 at least, knowing that these provinces were placed in orange alert level.

The other provinces concerned with the heat wave are Bejaia, Jijel, Skikda, Annaba and El Tarf, with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, but locally it may exceed 44 to 46 degrees Celsius in the southern states as from Tuesday until Wednesday at nine pm at least.

The provinces of Sidi Bel Abbes, Mascara, Relizane and Chlef are also concerned with the heat wave with temperatures reaching or exceeding 44 degrees Celsius until midday tomorrow, Wednesday.
