Interior Minister starts a working visit to Mauritania

The Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and National Planning, Kamel Beldjoud, started today a one-day working visit to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

Upon his arrival to Nouakchott international airport, Beljoud was welcomed by the Mauritanian Minister of Interior and Decentralization, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug along with Algeria’s ambassador to Nouakchott, Noureddine Khendoudi

This visit comes in the framework of strengthening bilateral relations, which have witnessed a qualitative leap in recent years, and have been further consolidated since the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune and his Mauritanian counterpart, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, took office in their respective countries.

This visit, during which the Interior Minister will meet senior officials in Mauritania, is an opportunity to activate some joint strategic projects and discuss issues of common interest.
