The 25th edition of the International Book Fair of Algiers (SILA) noted a large crowd of the public at its opening Friday morning at the Palais des expositions (Pins maritimes, Algiers).
Many visitors, especially young people, began to flock from the first hours of the opening to the central pavilion and other stands displaying scientific, literary and religious books.
The Minister of Culture and Arts, Soraya Mouloudji, and the representative of Italy, guest of honor for this edition, Benedetto Della Vedova, attended the opening ceremony.
The two managers toured the stands of the publishing houses participating in this event, including the Italian stand and the stand of the National Graphic Arts Company (ENAG).
1250 publishing houses from 36 countries take part in this edition organized under the theme “The book…memory bridge”. The show will welcome visitors every day from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. until April 1st.
