Krikou partakes in 42nd Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs in Doha

The Minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women’s Affairs, Kaouter Krikou will take part in the 42nd session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs scheduled for 25-26 January in Doha, the ministry said Tuesday in a statement.

During this meeting, Ms Krikou will outline Algeria’s experience in caring for and protecting people with special needs.

The participants will discuss during this session the provisions of the Action Plan for the Arab Decade of Persons with Disabilities (2023-2032), that constitutes a reference framework allowing member countries to strengthen legislation in order to guarantee their rights and promote their full inclusion in society,” the statement added.

“The initiative was submitted by the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, which will oversee its implementation in each country,” the same source said.

The draft unified Arab classification of disability, which resulted from the 2nd workshop on the classification of disability in the Arab countries held last June, was adopted last June.
