Lamamra held talks in Moscow with Sergey Lavrov and Nikolai Patrushev

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, held today, Monday, a working session with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, and also held talks with the President of the Russian Security Council, Nikolai Patrushev, on the axes of cooperation between the two countries and prospects for its strengthening .

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad indicated that the talks with senior Russian officials, which came within the framework of the bilateral dimension of Lamamra’s working visit to Moscow, centered “on the most prominent axes of cooperation between Algeria and Russia and prospects for its strengthening in various fields, as well as issues related to preparing the upcoming bilateral events in order to give a new impetus to the mechanisms that govern the strategic relations between the two countries.”

It’s worth recalling that Mr. Lamamra is in Moscow with the foreign ministers of Jordan, Sudan, Iraq and Egypt, as well as the Secretary-General of the Arab League, to hold consultations with the Russian side as part of the mandate entrusted to the Arab Contact Group at the ministerial level to contribute to finding a diplomatic solution to the conflict in Ukraine.
