Lamamra received by Tunisian President Kais Saied

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, concluded on Tuesday afternoon, his working visit to Tunisia, during which he was received by the President of the Tunisian Republic, Kais Saied, according to a statement by the ministry.

The statement said, “The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad conveyed, on this occasion, to the Tunisian President a message of brotherhood and friendship from his brother, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in which he affirmed his firm commitment to strengthening the bonds of brotherhood, solidarity and strategic relations that link the two countries.”

In the same context, Lamamra sent his greetings to the Algerian community residing in Tunisia, according to the statement.

The ministry’s statement stated that “the meeting was an opportunity to exchange views on bilateral relations and prospects for strengthening them in order to enable the two countries to face up to common challenges more effectively, including those related to COVID-19 pandemic.”

The meeting also represented – the source adds – “an occasion to discuss regional and international issues of common interest, especially the situation in the Maghreb, the Sahel and Sahara, as well as the Arab world.”

Meanwhile, Ramtane Lamamra held a working session with his Tunisian counterpart Othman Al-Jarandi, during which the two countries’ diplomacy chiefs hailed the convergence of positions on issues of common interest at the regional and international levels and agreed to work to continue and strengthen the tradition of consultation and coordination in all regional and international forums, according to the same statement.
