Lamamra received in New York by President of Libyan Presidency Council

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Mr. Ramtane Lamamra, was received in New York by the President of the Libyan Presidency Council, Mr. Mohamed Younes Al-Menfi, according to a statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The statement said, “On the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Mr. Ramtane Lamamra, was received by the President of the Libyan Presidency Council, Mr. Mohamed Younes Al-Menfi, to whom he conveyed a message from his brother, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in which he reiterated Algeria’s solidarity and its unwavering support to the brotherly Libyan people in the implementation of the priorities of the current stage, especially with regard to achieving comprehensive national reconciliation that puts an end to the era of conflicts between Libyan brothers.”

The meeting also constituted an opportunity to review the distinguished historical bilateral relations between the two sisterly countries and brotherly peoples, as the two sides expressed their satisfaction with the positive pace that characterizes these relations and the continuous consultation and coordination on various regional and international issues of common interest.

The President of the Libyan Presidency Council entrusted Mr. Lamamra, with conveying his “greetings and appreciation to the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, for Algeria’s continuous efforts to establish security and stability in Libya.”

The meeting took place on the sidelines of Mr. Lamamra’s participation in the proceedings of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly, which will last until the 27th of this month in New York.
