Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad Ramtane Lamamra received on Thursday in Algiers Libyan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Najla Al-Mangoush who is visiting Algeria, said a statement of the MFA.
The two parties discussed, on the occasion, “the relations of brotherhood and cooperation binding the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, the ways and means of their consolidation in various fields, as well as all the regional and international issues of common interest, in particular the situation prevailing in the Arab world,” the statement said.
The meeting was also “an opportunity to review the latest developments on the Libyan scene,” the statement said, indicating that “Lamamra reiterated Algeria’s constant support to the Libyan brothers, stressing the need to double efforts in order to promote the language of dialogue and national reconciliation and to develop a Libyan-Libyan compromise that preserves the unity and sovereignty of Libya and restores its security, stability and deserved position at the regional and international levels.
