
Minister of Health, Abderrahmane Benbouzid, supervised, Thursday in Algiers, the launch of a guide to care for the feet of people with diabetes, with the aim of reducing the rate of amputation of the patient’s foot in the future.
Abderrahmane Benbouzid stressed, during a study day hosted by the Ministry’s headquarters, on taking care of the foot of diabetes, that “often patients come to treatment after a late diagnosis of the disease, which causes serious and multiple complications,” noting that the new guide prepared by a group of experts will help “Reducing amputation of the foot in patients by 80% in the future.”
He added, that this guide will be made available to health users, allowing them to access in a timely manner the world of specialized knowledge and to acquire best practices to ensure optimal care of people with this disease.
