A vaccination campaign against the novel corona virus (Covid-19) was launched today, Monday, through public spaces in the province of Ouargla, under the slogan “We are all concerned by the vaccination against Corona virus.”
The first groups of citizens over the age of fifty began receiving the first dose of the “AstraZeneca” vaccine at the mobile community vaccination center that opened in El-Hajar market square in the center of Ouargla.
Many citizens flocked at the beginnings of this medical campaign to receive the vaccine after conducting pre-medical examinations such as blood pressure and diabetes to avoid potential complications, while others approached the center for the purpose of inquiring.
In addition to vaccination, the medical staff, supervising this operation over a period of six days, also provides advice and guidance to citizens on the importance of the vaccine and ways to prevent the Corona virus pandemic.
This preventive campaign, which is organized across public places and commercial spaces, comes in implementation of the health ministry’s plan aimed at generalizing the vaccination process against Covid-19, as the vaccination process has so far included about 20 percent of the target groups.
The province of Ouargla has received, in batches, about 15,000 doses of various types of anti-Covid 19 vaccines (Sputnik, AstraZeneca and Sinopharm), as explained by the Director of Health Sector.
The same official confirmed, on the occasion, that the vaccine quantities are sufficiently available, and the vaccination operation will target in a later stage various segments of the society.
